The match between Man United & Brentford started with full attacking forces.
Manchester United have been better, but have created very little and not really had one clear chance yet. It goes without saying that they are missing Eriksen and Casemiro’s creativity, and there is a real onus on a forward player to create a moment of magic.
It’s not exactly like United have been brilliant, but probably a roughly deserved 1-0 lead. Brentford struggling to get into the game. Thomas Frank said he didn’t want to concede in the first 20 minutes and he avoided that, but his team need to find something here.

Brentford fail to clear their lines from a corner allowing United to continue the attack and Rashford volleys home into the roof of the net after he is found by Marcel Sabitzer who plays a smart header into his team-mate’s path.
Luke Shaw is moving into midfield a lot more to receive the ball and it came off well there when Martinez beat the lines. United should have got a shot off to test Raya but failed.
Red Devils could do with pulling that off more often against Brentford’’s back three.

Tonight was always going to be about patience against such a difficult team to beat but there has been the odd piece of delayed play that is testing United fans’ patience.
Dalot shifts the ball to Antony just in the right corner of the box, he shifts the ball to his left foot and curls one towards the goal, but it’s just wide past the outstretched arm of Raya.
Shaw then picks up a booking for a late challenge on Ivan Toney. Fair? Probably.
Jadon Sancho, in for Wout Weghorst has been quiet so far, but does he get the ball in the box here before he is quickly dispossessed.
United clearly the better team so far but finding it tough to break down a resilient Brentford side.
