Man City vs Brighton’s match started with full attacking forces.
When Grealish was preparing to come on, I wasn’t sure where he would go with Doku and Foden both doing well. But that goal changes things and a bit of control is welcome. Doku is unfortunate to go off, but has probably run out of steam. Stones also is probably a pre-planned change – maybe that’s why Dias was on the bench.
Ortega comes off his line to catch a corner but misses the ball completely. It finds Mitoma at the back post but the winger hits the side netting. Massive let off for City, with fans growing edgy as Brighton look for a way back into the game. Grealish coming on.
Jeremyy Doku goes down as he passes Veltman, but in retrospect there is not much contact and the referee doesn’t give anything. It looked like a clear foul, though, so City fans and Pep Guardiola are furious.

Pep Guardiola is up from his seat waving his arms, and continues to do so when play stops and he can catch the eye of the referee. Still, Doku remains a threat despite Milner’s replacement.
Ruben Dias, Mateo Kovacic and Kalvin Phillips out to warm up at the start of the second half for City. There’s no change in shape, but Milner’s exit from the game might see them have to be a little more inventive with their attacking.
Although the way Veltman hauled down Doku just then suggests he has as little idea of how to deal with the winger as Milner did. Doku stays down and looks in pain for a bit, but gets back up. Jack Grealish gets some cheers as he goes to warm up.
