Ajax vs Liverpool’s match started with full attacking forces.
Robertson sends the corner in from the left. Nunez, the man who won the corner, gets away from Timber and meets Robertson’s cross in the middle of the six-yard box and steers his header into the bottom right corner, far away from Pasveer’s grasp.
Darwin Nunez summed up in 30 seconds! It was his attempt at a cross that brought a corner from Pasveer being made to turn it behind.
Nunez hits the post! How did he do that? An open goal to aim at after it’s squared across to him after the keeper is dragged out to the right, but he rattles one against the woodwork.

Henderson marauds towards the Ajax box from the left after a nice long ball from Gomez deep on the right. Henderson spreads to Firmino on the right side of the box, who then cuts it across instantly to Nunez who whacks it onto the post.
Liverpool have started the second half better than they did the first. TAA gets down the right, for the first time in the game, whips in a dangerous cross but Bassey heads it away from Nuñez as the big striker was licking his lips.
It’s the first bit of quality Liverpool have put together and it’s brought the first goal. Mohamed Salah hooks it home from a wonderful pass from Jordan Henderson.
It was a difficult finish really but he makes it look easier than it was.
And from the corner, the striker has headed home his sixth Liverpool goal. The Reds in firm control now.
